F1, Jost Capito opens to Mick Schumacher to replace Nicholas Latifi
Jost Capito opens up to Mick Schumacher
Williams team principal Jost Capito admitted how the British team is still on the hunt for a replacement for Nicholas Latifi for next season in Formula 1.
In particular, among the possible profiles selected by Williams is Mick Schumacher, as highlighted by Capito himself to the microphones of RTL/ntv: “Yes, of course. Mick is an option. He deserves to stay in Formula 1. We will see if it happens, but for us he is definitely an option. Now he can really grow and be a very good Formula 1 driver. If we look at George Russell, he made mistakes as a rookie at Williams and still grew. Formula 1 is very difficult and the step up from Formula 2 is so big because the cars are so complex and technically more challenging. You have to give a driver two years and then show what he can do in the third.”
“A Williams-Schumacher combination would certainly be fascinating. There is also Logan Sargeant. But most likely the whole thing will be decided only after the season, I think shortly after Abu Dhabi a week or two later,” the German sports executive concluded.
