Mercedes team principal has one certainty about George Russell

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, interviewed by ‘Channel 4,’ had this to say about George Russell, in his first year among the British team’s official drivers: “George has been fantastic in joining the team. He has a great personality, he acts with integrity, he is very transparent in working with Lewis, and both of them have helped us so much in the development of the team this season.”

“Obviously George was hoping to get into a Mercedes and win races and championships, but he got the timing wrong. At least now he has made progress, he has moved on to battle in the scrum pack!” the Austrian executive continued.

Finally, Wolff expressed a certainty about the 1998 class: “The time will come when he will win races and championships, and I think he is absolutely capable of doing that. I am very happy to have him on the team for the long term.”
