Tadej Pogacar prepares with a victory at Lombardy

“I am overjoyed with the victory,” said the UAE Team Emirates rider.

After placing second on Saturday in the Giro dell’Emilia, Tadej Pogacar wins the Tre Valli Varesine.

The UAE Team Emirates cyclist adds the prestigious Italian race to his palmares by ruling in a sprint a select group of 20 riders, among whom Italian Vincenzo Nibali also sought victory.

These are the words of the first place finisher: “I am overjoyed for the victory. It was a very fast race, the team worked well to keep the group together in the final, especially Diego Ulissi was exceptional: the sprint was the best solution for me in the final stages of the race, everything went perfectly.

“It’s a good performance ahead of Il Lombardia: it will be more difficult than last year, but we will try as always to give our best.”
