Big scare during the match between Fiorenzuola and Lucchese, valid for the Coppa Italia Serie C: striker Nicola Anelli was left on the ground after a violent aerial collision with an opponent.
The players on the field immediately realized the severity of the impact and the medical staff intervened promptly. Anelli, class of 2004, was then transported by helicopter to Maggiore Hospital in Parma for assessment. The referee, in agreement with the two teams, decided to stop the match permanently.
According to Sportmediaset reports, the young man, who suffered a head injury and a fractured septum, regained consciousness.
