Trieste basketball, Mario Ghiacci runs to the rescue of Marco Legovich’s men
The president of Pallacanetro Trieste runs to the rescue of the red-and-whites
The president of Pallacanestro Trieste, Mario Ghiacci, spoke in an interview with ‘Il Piccolo’, returning to the heavy home defeat, in the league opener against Pesaro.
“Sunday’s match unfortunately highlighted all our current difficulties. Our strengths, except for a small moment of the match, were not seen, the strength of our opponents instead amplified what are our weaknesses. This year’s A1 series is this, an extremely competitive tournament, but having said that, I think it is profoundly wrong to make absolute judgments after one day of the championship,” explained the executive of the red and white club.
“No one wants to underestimate the situation, what we ask of the environment is only balance. We are a team that has a new coaching staff, very renewed in the roster, that has had to deal with a preseason full of setbacks and that, in this first month, will have to deal with an extremely severe schedule. In the next few days we will face Virtus Bologna, Reyer Venezia and Tortona, three of the best-ranked teams in the league: we do not hide the difficulties and it will take time to find the square. But even in case no points come, it will be important not to lose our composure. We have to keep the tiller straight and work on the group to make it grow and put the players in the condition to perform at their best,” Ghiacci continued.
