Italy has qualified for the quarterfinals of the ongoing Women’s Volleyball World Cup in the Netherlands. In Rotterdam, Mazzanti’s girls confirmed their supremacy in Pool E, bowing out Argentina and clinching their seventh win out of eight matches played in the rainbow event.
Paola Egonu and her teammates won in three sets with the scores of 25-19; 25-18; 25-17: they will face China on Saturday to play for first place in the group. Fourteen points for Paola Egonu (top scorer for Italy), 12 for Anna Danesi, 9 points for Caterina Bosetti and 8 for Miryam Sylla and Cristina Chirichella.
