Filippo Ganna let go, moved, after setting the hour record.
“I thank everyone. The support I’ve had is incredible. Today I achieved this unthinkable goal for me at the beginning of the day. It is the right satisfaction for all these months of work. This morning I thought I would break the record even by one meter, but during the race I realized that I was going beyond all expectations. Now it’s time to recover. The most difficult moment? In the last five minutes. I felt my legs were heavy. I was in pain and didn’t have the strength to get to 57 km/h.”
