F1: tractor on track, drivers in shock. Furious Jules Bianchi’s father.
Chaos ensues in the early laps of the Japanese Grand Prix
Rain wreaked havoc in the early laps of the Japanese Grand Prix, which was interrupted on the third lap due to poor visibility on the track. A tractor used to retrieve cars was spotted by drivers at the edge of the track, and a number of cars, including Gasly’s, passed by the vehicle marked by the flashing light.
A circumstance that infuriated the AlphaTauri driver, who via team radio spoke his mind unabashedly: “This is unacceptable! How is this possible? I can’t believe it.” Norris also chimed in, “How could this happen!? We lost a life in this situation years ago. We risk our lives, especially in conditions like this.” And then Perez: “How can we make it clear that we never want to see a crane on the track? We lost Jules because of that mistake.”
The reference is to Jules Bianchi, who tragically passed away in 2014. These are the indignant words of his father on Instagram: “No respect for the drivers, no respect for the memory of Jules.”
