Bautista closes out Portuguese Round with win in race-2

The Portuguese Round of the World Superbike Championship ended with a smile for Ducati and Alvaro Bautista. In fact, in Portimao, the veteran at the wheel of the Panigale V4R took success in race-2, ahead of Toprak Razgatlioglu, who on his Yamaha had instead won race-1 and Superpole Race.

Rounding out the podium for the final race in the Algarve was Jonathan Rea’s Kawasaki, ahead of a more than decent Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Ducati), who finished fourth. Also in the top 10 was Andrea Locatelli, on a Yamaha.

In the standings, therefore, Bautista makes a not insignificant gift to himself and to Ducati itself: in the riders’ championship he has in fact re-aligned himself on Razgatlioglu, returning to +56 with three Rounds to go, while the Borgo Panigale Redhead remains ahead of everyone in the constructors’ championship with a 46-point lead over Yamaha.
