A former Torino player becomes the owner of a Spanish club
Iago Falque in a new look
Iago Falque, an old acquaintance of Serie A and Italian soccer, has decided to move to a new guise: from footballer to entrepreneur. The former Genoa and Torino player among others, currently playing for America Calì, has formalized an agreement to become the owner of Coruxo, a club that plays in the Spanish third league, just a stone’s throw from Vigo, Iago’s hometown.
But there’s more: an Italian industrial holding and development company, Matteo Saba Holding, is also involved in the project with an initial investment of ten million and entry on a listed market, through the Binance platform, testifying to a rather serious project.
The goal is ambitious but reflects the importance of the investment: to reach the top Spanish league within five years.
The last Scudetto won by Torino was in the 1975-76 season. Imposing themselves ahead of Juventus was the team coached by Gigi Radice and that in attack fielded the formidable pair formed by Paolino Pulici and Ciccio Graziani. In goal Luciano Castellini, the ‘Jaguar’, in midfield, among others, Eraldo Pecci. Since 2005 the owner and president of the Granata club has been the Alexandrian publisher Urbano Cairo.
