Inter, Hakan Calhanoglu reveals what the Nerazzurri have been missing
“Against Barcelona we worked for each other,” Calhanoglu said.
Hakan Calhanoglu, interviewed by the microphones of Amazon Prime Video, revealed what he thinks was missing in Inter’s last few games that was there in the San Siro challenge against Barcelona instead, and about his adaptation on the pitch in the low regista role, generally filled by Croatian Marcelo Brozovic.
The Turkish midfielder spoke about the Nerazzurri’s change in recent matches after a period of tarnishing: “Inzaghi wanted us to work as a team, not as individuals; so on Tuesday we all worked for each other. We ran more, with desire, courage and heart: what was missing in my opinion in the last few games.”
The former Milan man then spoke about the return match against Barcelona, scheduled for Wednesday, October 12, at the Camp Nou: “They are angry, they have fire inside and we know it will be difficult. But we will give our best, if we work like this for 90 minutes until the end, I don’t think many teams have a chance to win against us.”
On the role of low director instead, the midfielder expressed himself this way, “I’m not used to it, I’m better with another midfielder next to me. In the national team we always play like this, instead in the first leg I was alone with Barella and Mkhitaryan who gave me a hand, we did a great job.”
The Nerazzurri club has held the title of Italian champions nineteen times, the last of which was in 2021 when Antonio Conte was at the helm. The first Scudetto came in 1910, the first Champions Cup in 1964, duplicated immediately the following year. With Jose Mourinho on the bench, in 2010, the ‘Beneamata’ raised the cup with the big ears for the third time by knocking out Bayern Munich in the final.
