F1, Jenson Button compares Max Verstappen to another world champion
“I saw the same thing in 2011,” Button said.
Former Formula 1 driver Jenson Button spoke to Sky Sports microphones, comparing fresh two-time world champion Max Verstappen to another F1 world championship winner.
“I saw the same thing in 2011 with Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull,” admitted the former spokesman for Renault, Brawn and McLaren among others.
“He won the championship, just in this grand prix, as well as being dominant all year with his teammate who was there, or almost there, in much the same way Max just did,” the 2009 world champion continued.
It was Sebastian Vettel who was the first driver to win a world championship with Red Bull. The German put everyone in line for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. The Austrian stable returned to success in 2021 thanks to Dutchman Max Verstappen, with the son of art repeating the following year. If there was a battle to the last in 2021, that was not the case in 2022.
