Thiem is unbalanced on the number 1 ATP ranking.

Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem, during an interview with Spanish newspaper ‘AS,’ had his say on Carlos Alcaraz, who became No. 1 in the ATP rankings after his victory at the US Open, the first Slam won by the formidable 2003-born tennis player.

“Alcaraz is the youngest number one in history and won the US Open as a teenager. He is an outstanding tennis player and is changing tennis. In New York and other tournaments he has always played on the attack, going to the net, playing every point without fear and with very high tempo. I think this is something new, ” said the 2020 US Open winner.

Finally Thiem spent a few words on his return to the highest level: “I want to come back to compete to win a Slam and I have the conviction that I can do it, otherwise I would give up my career. I have the feeling that I am able to fight for big titles again, for Slams and that I can beat anyone.”

After an irresistible rise Carlos Alcaraz in 2022 won his first Grand Slam title, at the US Open. With the victory in the U.S., he gained the top spot in the Atp rankings, becoming the youngest tennis player in history to achieve the feat, at age 19 years 4 months and 7 days.
