F1, Sebastian Vettel gloomy: “They won’t remember me”
Aston Martin driver Vettel: “The most important thing is that I have always tried to treat people with respect.”
Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel is in the final races of his Formula 1 career. In an interview with the British team’s official website, the four-time world champion German driver has a melancholy thought: “The time will come when no one will remember me. Nothing lasts forever. People can decide whether they want to remember or not, but I wouldn’t be offended if they didn’t. It is not important how they remember me. The most important thing is that I always tried to treat people with respect, that’s what I would like to be remembered for, that’s something that would make me happy.”
Still on his retirement, Vettel expressed himself in these terms, “Would I retire if I had been very competitive in the last three or four years? With a car to win races and fight to be world champion, maybe if I had the opportunity to win another one maybe I would have made the same decision, but it’s impossible to say now.”
