MotoGp, Alex Rins wants to repeat in Malaysia
Alex Rins wants an encore at Sepang
Alex Rins comes to the Malaysian Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the season, with morale soaring after his sensational victory at Phillip Island. Sepang is a rather technical circuit with tight corners and very long straights.
The victory in Australia – the Spanish rider’s favorite circuit -, achieved after a dramatic battle with Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia, brought a smile back to the Suzuki team after an exciting and tumultuous year. Rins loves the challenges of Sepang, having already achieved a MotoGP podium at the circuit in 2018 with a second-place finish, and a fifth-place finish in the last time it was raced in Malaysia in 2019.
The Spanish centaur spoke this way ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix: “I’m still absorbing the happiness of the last race, it was a real pleasure to celebrate a victory again with my team after so long, and the Australian GP will remain in my heart. But now it’s time to move on to Malaysia. Sepang is always a challenge, especially when it rains! But with myself and my bike feeling good, I hope to get another important result this Sunday.”
After six titles won by Valentino Rossi in eight years it was the Spanish riders who took the lion’s share of the MotoGp world championship. From 2012 to 2020 only they have won, with Jorge Lorenzo a two-time world champion, Marc Marquez (6) and Joan Mir, triumphant in 2020 with his Suzuki.
