Berrettini flies to semifinals

After his revenge over Roberto Carballes Baena, Matteo Berrettini continues undisturbed in the ATP 250 tournament in Naples. The number two seed on the draw overcame Japan’s Taro Daniel in two sets with a score of 6-2 6-3.

The Italian got off to a strong start immediately and snatched service from the Japanese in the opening game. On serve Matteo conceded the crumbs and in the seventh game he repeated the break to then close 6-2 the first partial. In the second set the music does not change: Berrettini wins the break in the first game and gets it again in the last game, closing on the third match point.

The Roman tennis player thus enters the semifinals where he will face the winner between Zhizhen Zhang and the American Mackenzie McDonald.
