Massimiliano Allegri is already thinking about the Champions League

Despite his Juventus’ convincing win against Empoli, Massimiliano Allegri preferred to keep a low profile in his press conference, saying that his mind is already on Tuesday’s Champions League match against Benfica, a decisive match for the Old Lady’s European fortunes.

“Tonight it was important to win,” the Livorno coach said in front of reporters, “to make up ground in the league and finally get two wins in a row. Tuesday’s match will be a very important one for two reasons: we are not out of the Champions League and we are not even in the Europa League. We will face a strong team but I am convinced that we have the chances to go there and overturn the result by playing the right kind of game. We have to be confident.”

Juve will play at the Da Luz in Lisbon against Benfica on Tuesday at 9 p.m. It will be important to win by also overturning the 1-2 in the first leg, to have the direct clash in their favor should they finish tied on points at the conclusion of the group stage.
