Goggia family expands

Sofia Goggia nicely welcomed on social media Isèr, the prize calf of the Critérium de la Première Neige: “Welcome Isèr! After the first and famous Ambrosi, Isèr has finally arrived; if you didn’t know, the calf is the classic prize of the Critérium de la Première Neige that you get by winning the Val d’Isère downhill,” she wrote on Facebook.

“I named it – Isèr – in honor of the resort (last December I won both the Dh and the Sg), but I nicknamed it Isy because that day I equaled Isolde Kostner’s number of Cdm victories, 15. As always, thank you Ferdy Wild for allowing two Savoyards to join the nice bunch of original Alpine brunettes,” concluded the champion from Bergamo.

Isèr belongs to the Savoyard cattle breed, also called tarina or, in France, tarentaise. In the photo she is still small, in the future, on the other hand, she will need a not inconsiderable amount of space: the weight of males varies between 600 and 800 kg with withers height of 120-130 cm, females (like Isèr) usually do not exceed 400-450 kg with withers height around 120 cm.
