Virtus Bologna point guard makes a revelation about Paolo Banchero

Virtus Bologna point guard and former Golden State Warriors player Nico Mannion spoke about the possibility of seeing 2022 NBA Draft first-round pick Paolo Banchero wearing the Azzurri national team’s jersey.

“I would love to play with him. He seems like a good person. He texted me and said he’s looking forward to coming. He wants to come, it’s just a matter of finding the right time,” revealed the 2001 class.

Mannion then recalled the time he faced the 2002 with an Italian passport, “I think we faced each other once when we were very young, like 14 years old.”

“He’s in contention for rookie of the year in the NBA this year. He’s going to be a star in the NBA. And he’s a long guy. For me, as a guard, it’s great to play alongside him and try to help him there. I know coming from America it’s very different. But I think we would play well together because he is very unselfish. Having someone like him on the team would be special,” concluded the point guard, spending honeyed words for the Orlando Magic player.
