Ducati, Pecco Bagnaia beaming: ‘The best of my life’
Ducati centaur Bagnaia spoke after his victory in Malaysia
Ducati centaur Pecco Bagnaia commented on his satisfied victory in Malaysia, which brings him within two points of the world title: “I would like to say that I made the best start of my whole life, it was perfect. I wanted to take risks to stay ahead of everyone.”
“Being behind Jorge Martin was too much for the rear tire, I was stressing it too much and I told myself I had to reduce the pace. Then he unfortunately crashed, but we did our best for the championship and it was also my seventh win of the season, so we can all be very happy,” concluded the Piedmontese rider, who sees his first World Championship in the premier class getting closer and closer.
Francesco, aka ‘Pecco,’ Bagnaia after winning the Moto2 world championship in 2018 with Sky Racing Team VR46, will make his MotoGpin debut in 2019 riding the Ducati of Team Pramac Racing. In September 2020, he scored his first podium in the top MotoGP category at Misano. The following year he switched to the official Ducati team and finished the championship in second place, behind the French Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo.
