US GP, comeback win for Max Verstappen: beat Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc
More success for Max Verstappen
The World Championship is not enough: a Max Verstappen in “cannibal” version also goes to take the victory in the U.S. GP, with a spectacular final comeback against Lewis Hamilton, however excellent second at the wheel of the Mercedes, and Charles Leclerc, protagonist of a good race with Ferrari. The other driver of the Rossa, Carlos Sainz, on the other hand, went off after one corner, wasting his pole position and getting the worst of it in a contact with George Russell.
Max Verstappen’s success, in a race characterized by two safety cars (the second of which for a nasty accident between Stroll and Alonso, fortunately without physical consequences for the two drivers), accrues in an exciting finale: the Dutchman is slowed down by a deficient pit stop by his team and ends up behind Leclerc, but makes the most of his Red Bull first to overtake the Ferrarista and then to put his nose in front of Hamilton, who was good at making the most of the strategies studied by the Mercedes wall to win the podium.
In the standings, behind Verstappen who is already world champion, Charles Leclerc thus goes to take back the second position: there are 267 points for the Monegasque, two more than Sergio Perez, who arrived at the foot of the podium.
