Atalanta tile: stop for Marten de Roon
De Roon injury: there is injury
Marten de Roon underwent instrumental examinations to assess the extent of the injury that forced him out of the match against Lazio on the last day of Serie A, a match then lost by the Nerazzurri 2-0.
The response of the examinations gave bad news: there is muscle injury. Atalanta’s statement reads: “The instrumental examinations to which de Roon underwent showed a minor partial injury to the hamstring muscle of the right thigh. The recovery time is not quantifiable at the moment and depends on the clinical progression of the player.”
No recovery time was specified but since it is an injury there is a big risk that the Atalanta midfielder will only return in 2023. Difficult to assume a recovery before the World Cup break in Qatar. Bad loss for Atalanta and for coach Gasperini who will have to give up one of his key men in the upcoming matches in which Atalanta will face Juventus and Inter among others.
For the past two years the Scudetto has been won by Milanese teams, first Inter and then AC Milan. Previously, for nine seasons in a row, it had gone to Juventus, which was able to win it with first Antonio Conte on the bench (three wins for the Salento native), then Massimiliano Allegri (five) and then Maurizio Sarri, who, however, was later replaced by Andrea Pirlo. At the beginning of the millennium, the last two Scudetti went to teams with non-vertical striped jerseys: Lazio won it in 2000, Roma in 2001.
