The words of Martina Fidanza

Martina Fidanza, after being honored in Milan with the Newsoportvision Coni Lombardia Award, spoke exclusively to the microphones of Sportal.it about her exhilarating track world championships in which she reconfirmed herself as rainbow champion in the scratch, as well as triumphing in the team pursuit.

“It was harder to win the second time more than the first, after an up-and-down year with many difficulties. There were high expectations on me, but I was serene and enjoyed it. Now the goal is the Paris Olympics, also with the quartet. Let’s say we have already tested the track and it brought good results (laughs, ed.).”

Closing remark on Filippo Ganna: “It’s not easy to reconcile track and road. Having dips is normal, as happened to him in the Worlds time trial. I still knew he could break the hour record, but I didn’t think by that much. He’s still someone who when he sets his mind to a goal he achieves it.”
