Max Verstappen enjoys pole, but asks two things of his Red Bull
A pole position that brings good feelings.
Max Verstappen enjoys the first pole position of his career at the Mexican Grand Prix, and praises a Red Bull that started slow over the weekend but then beat everyone on Saturday when it counted. “It was a good qualifying,” said the world champion. “I think it was very close, but after the third free practice I made some adjustments to the car and found a better pace. To be here in pole position is really great. I know that the road to the first corner is very long, so we will need a good start. But anyway, I think the car will be fast, and that will be the most important thing tomorrow.”
“The passion of all the fans here is incredible. Even in the stadium it’s crazy, to go through there is amazing,” Verstappen then added, talking about the Mexican fans. Who, clearly, will be very supportive of his teammate, Sergio Perez, in the race: “Checo will be in the fight tomorrow, we have a fast car in the race. We hope it will be a fun race with a lot of action. To keep behind the Mercedes, who are very fast in the race, strategy will be key.”
