It all happens in the first half: Napoli overturns Atalanta in comeback
Naples wins with goals from Osimhen and Elmas
Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli won the first big match of this 13th day of Serie A, overcoming Atalanta away, thanks to goals from Osimhen and Elmas.
The partenopei thus consolidate their first place in the standings, rising to 35 points, plus eight right over Gasperini’s men.
The match kept a high pace from the start and the result was unblocked in the 19th thanks to Lookman’s goal, which realized the penalty awarded for Osimhen’s hand touch. Napoli’s equalizer was immediate, with the Nigerian making up for it in the 23rd by perfectly framing the cross that came from Zielinski’s feet. Ten minutes before the referee sent the teams to the locker room, the partenopei completed the comeback with Elmas, served by the usual Osimhen.
In the second half Atalanta tried with conviction, hitting a crossbar again with Lookman and creating several chances, exalting Meret’s qualities several times. The result, however, did not change any more and Napoli managed to make a further leap in the standings, pulling away by eight lengths right from the Nerazzurri, first of the pursuers.
