Lapadula will not start with Peru
Gianluca Lapadula, Cagliari’s center forward, will not leave with Peru for the two friendlies scheduled against Paraguay and Bolivia scheduled by the Peruvian national team. The Sardinian club did not allow the departure of its player as the two friendly matches were not scheduled by FIFA, as reported by ‘L’Unione Sarda’.
The Peruvian bomber, after a difficult start to the season, is experiencing an excellent moment of form, as evidenced by the latest goals scored in the last two matches against Reggina and Sudtirol. With a Pavoletti still in the box, Lapadula is still a candidate for a starting shirt in the next Serie B match, valid for the 13th day, scheduled on Saturday against Pisa at the Unipol Domus. All the more reason why coach Liverani and the Cagliari club do not want to deprive themselves right now of the former AC Milan and Genoa among others.
It remained in the history of Italian soccer the Scudetto won by Cagliari at the end of the 1969-70 season. Manlio Scopigno was on the bench while the team’s star was Gigi Riva: the bomber scored 21 goals, boasting the title of top scorer for the third time in just four years. Riva ended his very long experience on the island in 1977, having scored something like 164 goals.
