Max Verstappen now guffaws against Charles Leclerc
The words of Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen still has one goal in this season finale: to help Sergio Perez finish ahead of Charles Leclerc.
“It is always nice to come back to Brazil, a beautiful place and rich in culture. Interlagos is a short track and with all the elevation changes and sharp corners it’s a really nice track to drive. The circuit is obviously rich in history, and I really like that. With the Sprint race format this weekend it means we only have a short practice window, so that always makes it a little bit more difficult, making sure the car is perfect and we set it up well with limited time. As a team we want to finish first and second in the championship, so it’s important to make sure Checo stays ahead of Charles.”
It was Sebastian Vettel who was the first driver to win a world championship with Red Bull. The German put everyone in line for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. The Austrian stable returned to success in 2021 thanks to Dutchman Max Verstappen, with the son of art repeating the following year. If there was a battle to the last in 2021, that was not the case in 2022.
