Italian national team technical commissioner Roberto Mancini has released the list of summoned players for the double friendly engagements against Albania and Austria, two other World Cup outcasts in Qatar.
The coach from Jesi rejoins Federico Chiesa after a very long stop due to injury. Zaniolo also returns to the Azzurro, while Juve’s up-and-coming youngsters Nicolò Fagioli and Fabio Miretti have been called up, ready to make their national team debuts.
Gnonto still figures in the attack, and there is curiosity about 2006-class Simone Pafundi, a 16-year-old forward from Udinese still with zero Serie A appearances.
