Lewis Hamilton again missed the appointment with victory but seemed satisfied in the post-race interview with Felipe Massa: “First of all, I want to offer a big congratulations to George on his first win. He put in an incredible performance this weekend; I’m really proud of him as well as the whole team.”
“We worked really hard to score a win this season. A one-two even came, all really splendid! Further thanks to Brazil, which welcomed me as always in an incredible way,” he added, recalling the honorary citizenship he received.
He could not miss a joke about the contact at the start with Verstappen: “What should I say? It’s Max….”
