Johnny Herbert gives Lewis Hamilton no chance
Former F1 driver on Mercedes champion: “The changing of the guard is coming.”
Former Formula 1 driver Johnny Herbert to Sky Sports sees the changing of the guard between old lion Lewis Hamilton and young upstart George Russell, who won his first career GP in Brazil, as getting closer and closer.
“His battle with Hamilton was very significant, it is the changing of the guard that is beginning to glimpseers in Mercedes. We saw it with Verstappen, who went on to become a two-time world champion, but this step could be very important for George’s career.”
“It was the way he won the race that impressed, doing it sharply and consistently. He was under pressure, pressure that he had never felt before, and he nailed it, If Mercedes can provide him with a good car and continue the development program that they’ve carried out in the latter part of the season, designing a competitive single-seater for next year, I think I would bet on George to win the championship.”
