The former Spanish centaur on the post Valentino Rossi is clear: “The strongest now is Marc Marquez, then I would say Quartararo.”

Former MotoGp centaur Jorge Lorenzo at the microphones of Dazn took stock of the first World Championship without Valentino Rossi: “Little by little all the dominant riders have retired, with a very marked personality. Valentino Rossi is one of them, but we were not far behind.”

“Now people have to get used to the new riders. Fabio Quartararo and Pecco Bagnaia don’t have as strong a personality as we had in our years. But MotoGp is healthy, and with exciting races. This year Ducati has been the best bike, and so have its riders. But at the level of riders in general the strongest is Marc Marquez, and in second place I would say Fabio Quartararo.”

After six titles won by Valentino Rossi in eight years it was Spanish riders who took the lion’s share of the MotoGp world championship. From 2012 to 2020 only they have won, with Jorge Lorenzo a two-time world champion, Marc Marquez (6) and Joan Mir, triumphant in 2020 with his Suzuki.
