Formula 1, Fernando Alonso assures, “I’ll take care of Vettel.”
Abu Dhabi GP will be the last of F1 career for Vettel
Alpine’s driver Fernando Alonso, who will race for Aston Martin next year, at the end of qualifying for the last Gp of the season, in Abu Dhabi, spoke to the journalists present just about the current driver of the British manufacturer Sebastian Vettel, who will run the last Grand Prix of his Formula 1 career.
“I’m happy with his ninth position on the grid. It’s not that we helped him, but we all tried to keep an eye on him if we saw him in the mirror, because we want the weekend to be quiet for him. Tomorrow I will take care of Seb, both at the start and on the first lap. Hopefully we’ll both see the checkered flag,” assured the two-time F1 championship winner.
Then a comment on qualifying with his Alpine: “As for my qualifying, we did not have the right pace, in the end I think we can be happy to start tenth. We know it will be difficult to overtake tomorrow, but we will do our best to have fun and gain some positions inside the top ten. This is the last time I’ll be in the car with Alpine, so I’ll try to make the most of tomorrow’s race and I hope to end on a high note with the team.”
