Manchester United closes Cristiano Ronaldo case: statement

On the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 22, Manchester United announced its decision following the words released in recent days by Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is leaving Manchester United with immediate effect after terminating his contract in a consensual manner,” reads the note released by United.
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution during his two experiences at Old Trafford, in which he scored 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family all the best for the future,” the statement continues.
“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag’s management and working together to achieve success on the pitch,” it concludes.
