Qatar 2022, Brazil-Switzerland 1-0

Brazil beats Switzerland 1-0 on the second day of Group G of Qatar 2022, thus arithmetically winning qualification to the round of 16 of the World Cup.

At ‘Stadium 974,’ the match turned out to be rather complicated for the Seleçao, which especially in the first half struggled to create significant chances, paying for the absence of the injured Neymar and poor supplies to Richarlison. In the second half, Switzerland confirms the cautious attitude shown in the first 45 minutes, but Brazil tries to change gears and in the 64th minute goes in goal with Vinicius Junior: the goal, however, is nullified for offside after verification in the Var room.

The Greenoro, however, did not give up and their insistence was rewarded in the 83rd minute, when Casemiro guessed the right corner behind Sommer and could exult for the 1-0 goal. Six minutes of stoppage time were not enough for Switzerland to try to regain the equalizer: Brazil won and climbed to 6, ahead of the Swiss who were second with 3 points to their credit. Cameroon and Serbia, at the bottom of the group, remain at 1.
