Cameroon, historic but bitter victory with Brazil. Passes Switzerland

The Indomitable Lions fold the Greenoro, but the Helvetians overcome Serbia and finish in second place

Historic win for Cameroon against Brazil in the last match of Group G at Qatar 2022: the Indomitable Lions beat the reserve-stuffed Greenoro 1-0 thanks to a 92nd-minute goal (then sent off after taking off his shirt).

The three points, however, were not enough for the Africans to qualify for the round of 16: it was Switzerland who snatched the pass to the knockout stage thanks to their simultaneous success in the pyrotechnic match against Serbia.

The Helvetians won 3-2 against Dragan Stojkovic’s side thanks to goals from Shaqiri, Embolo and Freuler. Mitrovic and Juventus’ Vlahovic’s goals for the Serbians were useless.

In the round of 16, Brazil, first in the group despite the knockout, will take on South Korea, while Switzerland will face Portugal.
