Sofia Goggia has a first big goal for the season

Sofia Goggia is charged up, ready for a star season. To Corriere dello Sport, she explained what her first goal for the season is: “I would love to have a ‘healthy’ season, just that.”

There is so much more in her sights: “So many people on the street stop me and say, ‘That’s the world champion.’ Actually I, although I am an Olympic champion, I did not win the rainbow gold, so it is certainly a goal I would like, but let’s see. There are so many stages before the World Championships.” There also comes a certainty about the giant slalom events, “Yes, but I will decide according to the calendar. In the first part of the season I focused a little more on speed.”

A quip also about the future after skiing: “I don’t know yet what life will bring me. I don’t know if I would do TV, for sure I am very ambitious. In fact, there are two Sofie: one very ambitious and one very simple. These two facets of me are part of a total integrity, so I will try to find a balance, looking for something ambitious in work, but living a life of simplicity.”
