Sofia Goggia heads to Sestriere: ‘Just what I need’
Sofia Goggia will participate in Saturday’s giant slalom
Sofia Goggia, fresh from her downhill double in Lake Louise, is ready to take part in her first giant slalom of the season at Sestriere: “Coming from an absolutely positive Canadian trip, I skipped the Killington giant slalom because I preferred to prepare Lake Louise as well as possible, and in the end it was the right decision.”
“The giant slalom is a discipline that allows me to maintain a high technical level, even with speed, and that’s what I need,” explained the skier from Bergamo. “It’s about creating speed in technical stability, so the giant slalom recalls will be very important and I feel I have the qualities to achieve good placings, because even in the last two years, where I didn’t get great results in the specialty, I felt I had a good level.
