Marco Spissu doesn’t forget Sassari
Marco Spissu talks about his connection to Sassari and Dinamo
With the challenge between his new team, Reyer Venezia, and the one in which he grew up, Dinamo Sassari, approaching (it will be played on Boxing Day at ‘Taliercio’), Marco Spissu wanted to recall his experience in biancoblù during an interview with ‘Il Foglio’.
“The scudetto with the colors of my city, faded in game 7, was the most beautiful page of that history,” recounted Spissu, 27, at Reyer since this summer after his experience in Kazan. “It was an incredible series, with alternating victories. I still remember the chilling atmosphere at PalaSerradimigni. But Venice was a great team and it proved it.”
Spissu’s idols, too, are inevitably players who made Dinamo’s recent history: “Travis Diener, Jason Rowe, Lionel Chalmers: I used to study them and try to imitate them,” he said. “I always dreamed of going pro. And as I grew up, I realized I had something more than my peers.”
