It will be the third match refereed by Italian match director at Qatar 2022

After the satisfaction of having directed, without blemish, not only the opening match of the World Cup between Qatar and Ecuador, but also the delicate challenge between Argentina and Mexico in Group C, Daniele Orsato cashes in with satisfaction on FIFA’s decision to entrust him with the first semifinal of the Asian kermesse between the Albiceleste and Croatia’s Luka Modric and co.

The two assistants for the match, scheduled for Tuesday 13 at 8 p.m. at Lusail Stadium, will be Carbone and Giallatini, while at VAR is Irrati, with Valeri as AVAR. So an all-Italian refereeing team for one of the most important matches of the World Cup.

Certainly the Schio-based whistle blower will have proudly welcomed the designation established by FIFA, but in fact behind this decision may lie a small mockery: at this point in fact, refereeing the semifinal, it will be almost impossible to see Orsato directing the final on Sunday, December 18, regardless of who will take the field.
