MotoGp, riders do not want it for any reason

No radio contact with pits as in F1

Among the many innovations that Carmelo Ezpeleta, MotoGp CEO, would like to introduce in the World Championship. One of them is radio contact between rider and pit, exactly as it happens in Formula 1. An initiative rejected, in toto, by the riders, who are completely against the idea of talking to the pits during the race.

“Radio? Not at the moment, because the drivers don’t want it. Obviously I think it would be a great asset for communication but for us there is a line that should not be crossed and that is the fact that the pilot should not be disturbed. It’s an idea we have in our heads but we won’t put it into practice until it displeases the riders,” the MotoGp CEO’s comment to Marca.

Space, on the other hand, for Sprints, just as happens in F1: “They will come, clearly. We are deciding them. These are things we decide based on what we see in F1, but not only that,” Carmelo Ezpeleta’s closing remark.
