Germany: called four former champions to save the national team
Germans question themselves after two flops in Russia and Qatar
Germany is questioning itself after the two failed World Cups in Russia and Qatar. In both 2018 and 2022, the Mannschaft went out in the group stage, which has never happened in German soccer history.
The Football Association thus decided to set up a group of former champions to figure out how to revive the selection. Four former greats have been called: Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Matthias Sammer, Rudi Völler and Oliver Kahn. The first goal will be the 2024 European Championships, which Germany will play at home. Confirmed at least for the time being is head coach Hansi Flick, while a replacement for resigning team manager Oliver Bierhoff is being sought.
