Salernitana-Empoli: duel for a midfielder

The injury suffered by Giulio Maggiore, who will have to be out of action for at least a month due to a left quadriceps injury, is forcing Salernitana to intervene in the market to look for a replacement.

According to reports from Sky Sport, the Campania management has reportedly set its sights on Fiorentina midfielder Szymon Zurkowski, so far almost never employed by Vincenzo Italiano and looking for a club that can guarantee him greater continuity. On him, however, there is already strong interest from Empoli, which would like to bring him back to wear the Azzurri jersey with which he did so well last season, including six goals and three assists in 35 Serie A appearances. On the other hand, the Viola player has already expressed his willingness to like a return to Tuscany.

Salernitana, however, remains at the window and is ready to enter the negotiations to try to wrest the Polish national team player from the Tuscan club’s competition.
