Ducati, backstory on Bagnaia’s comeback: ‘Decisive moment’
Ducati’s sport director: “At some point he regained lucidity.”
Ducati sport director Paolo Ciabatti to Motorsport explained how Pecco Bagnaia turned around the inertia of a World Championship that in the summer seemed already in the hands of Fabio Quartararo.
“When I was asked after Sachsenring if we had given up, I said, ‘No. It’s very difficult, like climbing Everest. It’s very difficult, but possible.’ Pecco regained his lucidity right after Sachsenring. He told his team, ‘We can do it.’ He faced one race after another, without thinking immediately about the World Championship.”
“You have to show that you can never give up when the odds are against you, that you still have a chance to make it,” Ciabatti explained.
