F1, Daniel Ricciardo doesn’t hold back, “He’s a true friend.”
Ricciardo open-hearted about Vettel
Next season, the now former McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo will return to Red Bull as the third driver behind world champion Max Verstappen and Mexico’s Sergio Perez. In fact, the Australian has already raced for the Austrian team between 2014 and 2018.
During an interview with the website ‘Speedcafe.com,’ Ricciardo indulged in a statement of friendship for Sebastian Vettel, his partner in Red Bull and fresh out of retirement after the last two seasons driving for Aston Martin.
“This year Seb has picked up the phone several times and shown himself to be a friend, showing himself to be attentive just like a real friend would. Having friends like that is very important, but it’s also not that common on the grid. You get along well with drivers and build friendships, but having such a deep level of friendship is different. Some gestures he made this year and the kindness he showed toward me were, in a way, unexpected, but just super, super, super kind,” explained the former McLaren, Renault and Toro Rosso driver among others.
