Sofia Goggia broke her hand: immediate operation to compete immediately
Azzurra attempts another feat after downhill injury in St. Moritz
Bad news for Sofia Goggia: the skier from Bergamo fractured her hand during the downhill in St. Moritz, which ended in second place behind compatriot Elena Curtoni.
The Azzurra underwent some tests in the clinic that confirmed a compound fracture in the second and third metacarpals of her left hand. Fisi announced that Sofia Goggia immediately left for Milan, where she will undergo surgery with the hope of immediately returning to the slope on Saturday for the second scheduled downhill.
“It’s a shame not to share the podium with Sofia, it seems like a curse that something happens to her when I win,” Elena Curtoni told Rai after the victory.
