Sofia Goggia laughs it off by showing off her “manita”
Sofia Goggia’s words
Sofia Goggia is over the moon after her triumph in St. Moritz. “When I realized that I would be able to egg myself on and thus compete, I was so happy. At the start I told myself that there was no one as happy as me ready to run this race. I am not saying that I was afraid, however, some thoughts went through my head. However, I told myself that I had two trials in which I dominated. If I stay on my feet, if I ski as I know how, if I take the ramps as I know how, I can do it.”
The brace on her hand after the operation she underwent in Milan on Friday afternoon did not hold her back: “I was showing the handstand. I did the Olympics on one leg, what do you want a hand? I already said it in the pre-race but I sincerely thank all the people who helped me, from the drivers provided by Giorgio Armani, to San Donato who put together the best Italian surgeons to operate on me, to La Madonnina clinic and to those people who put in a small contribution to get me to the gate today. This victory is also for you.”
