F1, driver salaries 2022: Charles Leclerc takes fifth place
Verstappen grossed an impressive 56.6 million euros
The Sun has published the Top10 Formula 1 salaries, 2022 edition. After many years of absolute dominance, Hamilton is no longer the highest paid F1 driver. The seven-time World Champion has been overtaken by the current No. 1 in the circus, namely Verstappen, who took home a whopping 49.4 million pounds, or about 56.6 million euros, between salary and bonuses.
Behind him came Hamilton (51.9 million) while, on the lowest step of the podium, there is Alonso with 28.3 million euros in salary (fixed part affects a lot). In fourth place is Verstappen’s teammate, namely Perez (24.5 million). The first Ferrarista in the ranking is Leclerc, who has to settle for the fifth highest salary of 21.6 million. Partner Sainz is eighth in this particular ranking.
