Superbike, entry list

The names of the centrists we will see in action in the upcoming Superbike year have been revealed. There will be 23 riders ready to compete in the season that will start in February and that will see no changes in the official teams, unlike what we will see instead in the Independent teams.

Ducati, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda and BMW have decided to confirm the riders fielded in 2023. Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) will try to defend the world title he won and will continue to use the number 19: at his side will still be Michael Ruben Rinaldi. At Pata Yamaha WorldSBK Team, 2021 World Champion Toprak Razgatlioglu will return to his traditional number 54 and will continue to share the box with Andrea Locatelli for the third consecutive season. Jonathan Rea is aiming to return to ultimate success with the Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK, and once again his boxmate will be Alex Lowes.

Slight name change for the official BMW team that will take the name ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team and will have Scott Redding and Michael van der Mark as riders again riding the new M 1000 RR. Same pair of riders also for Team HRC with Iker Lecuona-a podium finish for him in 2022-and Xavi Vierge.

One change in the Bonovo Action BMW team with Garrett Gerloff coming to the Independent BMW team arriving from the GRT Yamaha team. The American’s teammate will be Loris Baz, in his second season with this team. In the MIE Racing Honda Team, Malaysian Hafizh Syahrin will experience his second year and will have Eric Granado, in his first full season, as his box mate.

In 2023 we will see some new faces but also faces we know well, such as 2013 World Champion Tom Sykes returning to Kawasaki with the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team while two-time MotoGP winner Danilo Petrucci will be making his WorldSBK debut with the Barni Spark Racing Team.

WorldSBK debut also for the GMT94 Yamaha team, which will field 2022 WorldSSP runner-up Lorenzo Baldassarri: the Macerata man will reunite in the premier class with his intermediate class rival Dominique Aegerter. The Swiss lands in WorldSBK to defend the colors of the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team together with the 2021 world champion in Moto2™ Remy Gardner who arrives from MotoGP™. Second season in the Championship for Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team which is banking on 2022 champion in British Superbike Bradley Ray, who will only take part in the European Rounds.

New season in 2023 for Axel Bassani with the Motocorsa Racing team: the Venetian wants to have his say riding the Ducati Panigale V4 R. Confirmation also for Philipp Oettl in Team GoEleven and for Czech Oliver Konig in the Orelac Racing VerdNatura team.
