F1: renewal with possible pay raise for Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes are working to reach an agreement on a contract extension. Talks have been going on for weeks and there is a willingness on both sides to reach an agreement.
According to the latest rumors, Mercedes could give Hamilton a salary increase: from the current 35 million euros per year to 45 million, with a possible bonus of 25 million if he wins the world championship. It cannot be ruled out that a clause would be included in the new contract through which Hamilton would become Mercedes ambassador to the world until 2035.
Lewis Hamilton was born on January 7, 1985, in Stevenage, England. Considered one of the best drivers of all time, he is, along with Michael Schumacher, the most successful champion in Formula 1 history with 7 world titles won: in 2008 with McLaren and in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 with Mercedes. He is also the driver with the most wins, podiums, pole positions and points in the history of the competition.
The driver has a very strong influence on F1 fans (and beyond) and is often involved in initiatives aimed at protecting the environment and animals.
