Virtus Bologna, Scariolo warns his team: ‘We must not be fearful’
Scariolo ahead of challenge to Panathinaikos
Virtus Bologna is preparing for its Euroleague game, scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, that will see the Felsini host Panathinaikos. Scariolo’s men, ranked 13th, have only a two-point lead in the standings over the Greeks, who occupy the 15th position.
The coach of the HCL team presented the challenge to the official channels of the Bologna club: “We face a healthy team, they have recovered all the players. They have reached an excellent level of offensive production, with many one-on-ones and many shooters. They are in good shape and have a solid defensive system. On our side we have to start well, with a non-fearful approach, limiting fumbles which is something that sometimes prevents us from capitalizing on our good defense and rebounds. We will have to stretch over 40′ our defensive efficiency and stability. which is growing based on the growth of the health of the players and based on the availability of more players capable of being effective on both sides of the court. We are on the correct path but we also need to confirm this with a good game tomorrow.”
